Some Ideas For Using Technology

I have come to realize that there are many forms of computerized technology available for students learning enhancement. I will list some of them below.
Phun: This is a program that allows children to experiment with the concepts of physics. Children are able to create realistic examples that show the ideas of friction and gravity and other concepts in physics. Children can create their own experiments and the program will show them exactly what happens when a certain amount of force is applied to a certain wait and so forth.

Skype: This is a fun way for students to be able to communicate. This can be particularly helpful for students who are not able to be in the classroom because they can communicate virtually. This program allows students to log in with another computer and see and talk with the person at that computer.

TooDoo: This has become one of my favorite programs for students. It allows students to create their own computerized book by picking various objects to apply to the page along with their text. They can create their own pages with a large variety of backgrounds and objects.

Interactive Whiteboard: This may be one of the most useful forms of technology. Teachers can use it to demonstrate a large variety of things just as they would a typical whiteboard. Also they can pull up any website onto the board and demonstrate on the whiteboard with special pens. The interactive whiteboard can record sound and the activities that the teacher is performing at the same time so that both the audio and visual of presentations can be recorded for later use.

I also learned about some ideas of what teachers can do to help their students use technology to enhance their learning. A 5th grade teacher uses computers that are spaced across the room for students to be able to use for research and for reporting their research. They are able to work together to research various aspects of history, definitions used in math, ideas in science, and components of language. Then they are able to report these things on a wiki page and on a blog site.
