These are the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the quarter. There were two categories with three subcategories in the first set and one in the second set.
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers…
Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress.
Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.
Although I never actually created a learning environment for students using technology this quarter I do feel that I learned much more about how to go about doing that. I learned about multiple sources that can be used for students. Some of these in particular that I feel help to incorporate students learning and technology are an interactive whiteboard, imovie, and podcasts. These are just a few examples of how technology can enhance student's learning I learned how to use these forms of technology and thought through ideas of how to use them to help students learn or to assist in their recount of what they have learned. The podcasts and imovies in particular can be used to customize and personalize work in that students can use them instead of writing a paper or they can be used for instruction specific to one child rather than the whole class.
I didn't observe a classroom however I learned from my classmates about a classroom that does use technology. I was able to observe their report about this classroom and how the teacher arranges computers and desks and allows children to research and report through digital formats.
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers…
Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.
I had the chance to work on this net goal through learning about a variety of forms of computer technology. Some of the programs that I learned about are, flash, phun, toodoo, and wikis and blogs.
Something that I would like to continue working on is:
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers…
Communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats.
Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate,
analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.
I hope to work on these through continuing with blogging about my teaching and learning experiences and through continuing to explore new forms of technology or at least forms that are new to me.
